Axxon (former ITV) introduces WS8 video input board

Axxon (former ITV), a developer of digital security and video surveillance systems, announced today the WS8 new line of video input boards that provides high performance of the video subsystem for professional video surveillance applications. Starting from the April 2006 all Axxon Enterprise and Video7 systems will be accompanied with the new WS8 video input boards with hardware compression.

Hardware compression of the video flow basing on Wavelet conversion ensures high performance of the system, providing the following benefits:

  • Increase of total system performance,
  • Reduction of system requirements to the computer platform,
  • Up to 24 channels of color live video for displaying, recording and transmitting data at an acceptable CPU load, and All boards support horizontal color resolution up to 500 TV-lines. Facilitates using Axxon (former ITV) security systems at objects with high requirements for image quality and transmission rate.

WS8 video input board specification: total frame rate is 100 fps without multiplexing; frame size is 704/544; 500 TV lines of resolution for black-and-white or color displaying; 4 video channels; 8 audio channels; hardware compression of the base of Motion Wavelet algorithm.

According to Axxon (former ITV) experts such video input boards will be most demanded at the objects where high video quality is necessary (banks, casinos, airports, railway stations, etc.). Equipping the video module of Axxon (former ITV) product line with the WS8 video input boards will enable operator of the security and video surveillance system to view all details, high-speed movements, the slightest changes in conditions at the guarded object.
